Apple’s iPhone security features lock out American police

The security features found on Apple’s iPhones are proving so difficult to break by law enforcement that there is now a backlog of enquires from American police forces asking for iphones to be unlocked, according to a CNET report. The report suggests that authorities signing up to the list can expect a 7 week wait before their query is answered. The report also suggests that the ATF turned to the supplier after 3 months of searching police departments at all levels who could unlock the phones but without any success.
